In our Visual Arts Centre, you'll find facilities and space that equal anything you’d find at art college. Through creative enrichment activities in the Visual Arts, you have an opportunity to integrate analytical with the wilder side of your imagination – the results are exciting!
Nothing is off limits here. You can take the disciplines of fine art, digital art and textile art and mix them up to make something new – an animation of a series of paintings or a textile based on a digital experiment, for example (or vice versa).
The 6th Form has its own studio within the Visual Arts Centre, which is shared with our artist in residence, and most of the teachers are practising artists, so there’s never any shortage of guidance and encouragement.
Courses are run during the enrichment sessions on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, and have included projects such as mural painting in local primary schools / care homes, expressive arts, 'Thinking through drawing', mobile digital photography courses, dressmaking, Art & Science projects, and typography. We also run life drawing courses in the Autumn and Summer terms, as well as visits to local and national exhibitions.
So sign up and see where it leads you!
